I love this. I know that perceptions change due to names (even when someone is introduced to me, I take note of the name and what it means) but it shouldn't be a thing for opportunities like jobs and education. Interesting that you took off your years and locations in your resume! It says a lot about things that can cause a resume to be discarded.
Tbh in India, it took me far too long to realize people can tell many, many things about you from your name alone. It never occurred to me and then all of a sudden, college was an eye-opening experience. And yes, taking the college year off my resume has helped me immensely. People tend to take me more seriously — back when they were still listed on my CV, I've had people try to fleece me or gaslight me into thinking I needed their mentorship while I delivered creative work for them (for free??!!).
